MTX 9512 Rear-Loading Horn
The Goal: The client was looking to achieve loud bass, in his Land Rover Discovery, particularly emphasizing authority along the lower end of the response cut-off.
The Design: The listening scenario was modeled and, given the performance goals, a rear-loading horn design showed to be the best match for the woofers as well as the cabin geometry.
The Build: This is another in the series of designs where the horn waveguide wraps around the compression chamber in three segments:

Though it may not look like it in the image below, this was actually a pretty tight fit, horizontally: Between achieving the target cross-sectional area at the mouth of the horn on one side, adequate clearance beyond the throat baffle on the other side, and a pair of over-sized woofer cut-outs complete with insets in the middle, no space went to waste:
